What customers say
From Homeowners Across North Texas
Real feedback from the people whose yards and homes Buzzkillerz treats. Every name and location is the actual customer's; quotes are lightly edited for clarity, never fabricated.
Brown patches everywhere in July, then six weeks with Buzzkillerz and the lawn looks better than it has in years. They explain everything they're doing, show up when they say they will, and never push extras.

Lawn treatment
We had a fire ant problem so bad the kids couldn't play in the yard. Buzzkillerz treated the property and within a week the mounds were gone. Two months later, still gone.

Fire ant control
Mosquitoes used to make our back patio unusable from May through October. Switched to a quarterly mosquito plan with Buzzkillerz last spring. We've had dinners out back all summer.

Frequently asked questions
Lawn and Pest, Answered
Common questions from north Texas homeowners about how Buzzkillerz works, what's covered, and what to expect on the property.
-
Are your applicators licensed?
Yes, twice. Lawn and ornamental treatments (fertilization, weed control, fungus, fire ant, tree and shrub work) are performed under the Texas Department of Agriculture Category 3A applicator license. Structural pest treatments (mosquitoes, termites, general indoor and perimeter pest control) are performed under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Structural Pest Control license. Both licenses are required by Texas law for the work each covers, and Buzzkillerz holds both. We never apply products without the appropriate credential for the service.
-
Is your treatment safe for pets and kids?
Yes, with one note: kids and pets should stay off the lawn while applications are still wet (typically two to three hours, sometimes longer in cool weather). Once treatments are dry, the lawn is safe for normal use. We list exactly what was applied after every visit so you always know what's on the property.
-
How much do treatment plans cost?
It depends on the property. Yard size, current condition, grass type, and how many visits the plan needs across the year all move the number, so a quote given over the phone before anyone has seen the lawn is a guess. Buzzkillerz does a free on-site evaluation first, then puts the price in writing. One-time treatments like fire ant knockdown, fungus spot treatment, or a single fertilization are priced per visit. Full plans are priced for the season. Either way there's no contract and no obligation to book after the evaluation.
-
Where do you service?
Buzzkillerz serves nineteen cities across north Texas and the DFW metro: Argyle, Bedford, Colleyville, Coppell, Euless, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Grapevine, Highland Park, Highland Village, Hurst, Keller, Lucas, McKinney, North Richland Hills, Prosper, Southlake, and Westlake. If you're nearby but not on the list, get in touch and we'll let you know.
-
What if the treatment doesn't work?
If a treatment we applied doesn't deliver, we come back and re-treat at no additional cost. Fire ant treatments include a re-treatment window. Weed and fungus treatments come with a check-back to confirm results. We'd rather earn the repeat business by getting it right than collect once and disappear.
-
How does mosquito control work?
Mosquito treatment runs as a seasonal plan, roughly March through October, with applications timed to keep populations down before they spike. Buzzkillerz treats the harborage areas where mosquitoes actually rest during the day: shrubs, fence lines, the underside of decks, dense foliage, and shaded turf. Standing water around the property gets flagged so it can be drained or treated separately. Heavy rain washes treatments off, so the schedule includes re-treatment after sustained storms at no extra charge.
-
What does termite service include?
Termite work starts with an inspection of the structure, foundation, and any wood-to-soil contact points. If no active infestation is found, Buzzkillerz can install a preventative treatment, typically a liquid soil barrier along the foundation plus a system of monitored bait stations. If active termites are confirmed, the plan targets the colony directly with either bait or a non-repellent liquid termiticide, depending on the species and the structure. Annual re-inspection keeps the protection in place over time.
-
What does general pest control cover?
The standard plan handles the common household pests in north Texas: ants, roaches, spiders, silverfish, earwigs, crickets, and the occasional invaders that show up when the weather shifts. Most of the work happens on the exterior, with a perimeter band around the foundation, treatment of door and window frames, and harborage spots like garages and storage areas, so pests are stopped before they get inside. Interior application is targeted to active problem areas (kitchens, bathrooms, garages) rather than blanket-spraying baseboards.
-
Do you handle rodents, scorpions, and wasps?
Yes. Rodent work is exclusion-first: Buzzkillerz seals the entry points (gaps around utility penetrations, vents, garage door corners) and adds tamper-resistant bait stations or interior traps as needed. Scorpion work targets the perimeter, dense ground cover, and any harborage cleanup the property allows. Wasps and hornets get nest removal plus a residual treatment to discourage rebuilds. Fire ants are a separate Category 3A turf service, covered on the fire ant control page.
